Red diesel gets the green light for arboriculture
It’s good news for arborists as HMRC change the rules to allow arboriculture businesses to once again use the more tax efficient red diesel for all tree work.
In April 2022 changes were put in place which restricted entitlement to use rebated diesel and biofuels. The horticulture and forestry industries were allowed to continue but arboriculture was not.
As many arboriculture businesses work across the ‘allowed’ and ‘no longer allowed’ industries it was causing unnecessary challenges, which the government has finally acknowledged.

Contractors can select from wheeled and tracked models and the road-going version is easily towed and has heavy-duty running gear, fully braked chassis and handbrake.
