Boasting 55 horse power with a huge amount of torque and phenomenal power, the ST8D 55 makes light work of any type of timber and brash up to 8” in diameter.

This is the 8” diesel wheeled woodchipper for the future with its stage 5 compliant, Doosan DPF engine delivering more chipping speed and efficiency than ever before. This engine coupled with the large Först ‘open top’ flywheel and FörstGrip feed roller system make it the 8” chipper of choice for the contractor.

55 HP STAGE 5 COMPLIANT DIESEL
The cutting-edge diesel technology from Doosan brings more power with more fuel economy. This is a DPF engine used in a huge range of plant and machinery worldwide and delivers a performance to impress.
TOUCH BUTTON CONTROLS
Different to the original Forst feed controls, the latest system gives you one button for feed and the other for reverse. These buttons are fully water and vibration proof, they are built tough and sit snug to the side of the hopper.
AUTOINTELLIGENCE CONTROL
A simple yet advanced electrical control system taking care of all the electrics on the machine. Historically electrics on plant and machinery are a troublesome – AutoIntelligence overcomes this with a completely water and vibration proof system designed and tested in the toughest environments. This system gives excellent usability and outstanding reliability, it will also make you aware when servicing is due and will recommend routine maintenance.
CLEAR FUEL TANK
Clear, easy fill, 35 litre fuel tank with large neck for all types of filling method.
OPEN TOP FLYWHEEL SYSTEM
The ‘open top’ flywheel design with twin 10” flat bar blades make for an excellent chip quality and phenomenal chipping velocity. The flywheel has large gusseted draught paddles which through the chip making this an excellent machine for clearing wet green material without any blockages.
VARIABLE FEED ROLLER SPEED
You can alter the feed roller speed to make the job quicker, and to make it most effective for the type of timber you are chipping. It will go fast!
EASY ACCESS ANVIL
It’s as important to have a good anvil as it is to have sharp blades. The anvil on our chippers can be turned, or replaced, in a matter of minutes. It couldn’t be simpler.
ForstGrip Feedroller System
Twin hydraulic feed rollers with plenty of crushing power and climbing on an arc over the timber for maximum grip. These rollers are tensioned with twin heavy-duty springs and will break limbs and forks with ease.
